Two Albany County Officials are demanding answers after they say hundreds of local homeless families and children were placed in area motels where sex offenders live. Legislator Christine Benedict and Comptroller Mike Conners blasted the Department of Social Services Monday saying they placed almost 300 children in local motels alongside 28 sex offenders. Officials with DSS admit families with children have been placed near offenders, but say only a handful of times and that the agency is taking steps to fix the problem.
